CORE FUNCTIONS 

• Initiate and formulate policies taking into account the needs and aspirations of the people; 
• Undertake development planning in consultation with the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC)  

• Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of the sector. 
• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of sector-wide digital initiatives and track its outputs 

• Collaborate with Development Partners and Regional Bodies for the attainment of Continental Digital initiatives 

• Facilitate the organization of stakeholder consultation meetings to solicit policy inputs for the implementation of the Digital Agenda 

Units under the Directorate 

The Directorate comprises the following units: 

Policy Coordination Unit 

The Unit initiates and coordinates the broad sector policies of the Ministry. 

Planning and Budgeting Unit  

The Unit leads in the design and provision of plans based on a sound framework for the effective implementation of the Ministry’s planned programmes, projects and activities. It is also responsible for preparing sector budget and the provision of technical guidance to Management on budgetary matters. 

Monitoring and Evaluation Unit 

The Unit ensures the provision of an effective basis for measuring the various stages of programs and projects of the Ministry as well as providing an objective basis for assessing the effectiveness of its programs and projects. 

Reforms, Regulations and Progammes Unit  

The Unit ensures the review and development of Reforms, Regulations and Progammes for the sector. The unit also leads in the coordination and review of national communication and education campaigns policy strategies. 

Ghana Post Desk 

This Desk facilitates the formulation of policies on postal services for the sector.
