DEPUTY MINISTER

Ms Ama Pomaa Boateng is the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digitalisation for the Republic of Ghana and a three terms Member of Parliament for the Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
As a Deputy Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, she supports the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful who has an oversight responsibility of the government’s infrastructure programme for the ICT Sector, the development of a robust framework to support the digitalisation of the economy and the scaling up of e-government services with a national broadband and total connectivity for the unserved and underserved at the heart of the agenda.
Ms Ama Pomaa Boateng comes with additional knowledge and understanding in Corporate Governance, the Energy and Communications Industries, Global diplomacy & Security, Entrepreneurship and passion for driving the gender diversity agenda.
She has served as Ghana’s representative to the ECOWAS Parliament (Abuja Nigeria) as well as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (Switzerland) where she served on gender committee and the Middle East Questions.

In Ghana’s parliament, she was until recently a Member of the Communications Committee and Science and Environment Committee. Her statements in Ghana’s parliament have focused on Cryptocurrency, the abuse of the internet, electronic waste among others.
Ms Ama Pomaa Boateng is currently doing an MSc Digital Business from University of Salford and has an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, a Business Foundations Certificate from Pennsylvania University, IS/IT Governance from University of Minnesota. She’s a proud HOPSAN and alumni of Fortune/US State Department Global Women Mentoring.
